The Care Centre at C3 Silverwater exists to nurture, provide for and love those who are doing life without many of the things many take for granted. Our Care Centre expansion and our revamped Thursday program's have been a big success. We are seeing lives changed and people practically helped and ministered to. Just this month we have seen eight people make a decision to follow Jesus.
We have loved inviting old and new friends from our community to an outreach service and hot lunch - Care Centre clients, CAP (Christians Against Poverty) clients, people from the local community of Auburn & Lidcombe, mental health patients and their carers are among those we’ve hosted.
We have been privileged to meet and build relationships with very special people, each with a unique an individual story.
John* reminisced about the 20 years he had been a long distance truck driver, his passion for music and the hope and encouragement he received by attending the Thursday service at the Care Centre. In his own words - "when I feel lonely and sad at home, it's lovely to come here. I love the music, hearing the encouraging message and just going out".
Garry* hadn't eaten for three days before he came in a received help from the Foodbank. He came along to Church, and made a decision for Christ. He has also received clothes and ongoing support and encouragement.
Each Thursday morning our incredible volunteer team comes in, packs our Foodbank deliveries away, prepares a hot lunch for our clients and gets the centre ready. It's such a joy seeing our valued guests walk through the door at 11am for worship music, an encouraging message of hope and hot lunch together. Afterwards many of our clients give back by getting involved packing away, sorting items and hanging clothes.
The Care Centre offers food parcels, meals, clothing, shoes, home wares, toy library, furniture and debt management counselling to persons in need in our community.
We are so thankful for the generous support and donations from members of C3 Church, Big W Australia, Oz Harvest and the local Loop Bus service provided by Dooley's and Auburn Council.
