They ride HOW far? C3 Cyclists riding to make a difference

C3 Cyclists are heading off on a leisurely 680km sojourn up the coast from Port Macquarie to Kawana Waters in November, all in the name of raising $25,000 for children in need. Donate Here.

Who are they?

C3 Cyclists are an enthusiastic community of people from C3 Churches around the world who: love cycling, want to be outwardly focused on helping others, want to connect with other cyclists, want to improve their health and wellbeing, and love the thought of having something significant to tell their kids and grandkids. The motley crew was started in 2010 by a group of 12 cyclists from C3 Mount Annan, and has now expanded to many other C3 Global Churches. Their goal has always been to “Impact a community, and help save kids’ lives.”

The group have partnered with important charities Humpty Dumpty Foundation and Kids' Cancer Project to supply hospitals with desperately needed equipment for children's wards, and to be part of the answer to curing cancer. Regional hospitals in particular urgently require equipment and supplies to help hard working staff do their job and contribute to healthier children, wherever they might be.

What are they up to?

This year, the C3 Cyclists 2014 Team is riding by bicycle 678 kilometres from Port Macquarie, NSW to C3 Kawana Waters, QLD. Collectively, they are looking to raise in excess of $25,000 to supply Nambour Hospital with a much-needed ‘Giraffe Infant Resuscitation Cart’, among other items.

The Giraffe Infant Resuscitation Cart provides hospitals with access to critical equipment they need for safe, effective resuscitation of the newborns in their care. It’s so portable that they can set it up anywhere they need it, from Labor and Delivery to NICU to well-baby nursery.

Other items are being supplied with this cart to assist in the care of newborns in the Special Care Nursery, Maternity and Paediactric units.

In 2013, the team rode almost the same distance (680km) between Sydney and Port Macquarie, raising $25,000 for Port Macquarie Hospital where a Child Resuscitation Unit was purchased for the Neonatal unit. A celebration service was held at C3 Port Macquarie where a cheque was presented to Hospital Representatives.

They didn't stop there. C3 Cyclists set off on a round trip that commenced and finished at C3 Mount Annan in a 600km + trip. A handsome $20,000 was raised for Bathurst Base Hospital to purchase a much needed Children’s Lift. The team arrived in Bathurst on the third day to attend C3 Bathurst and to present the heavy cheque to Hospital Staff.
