C3 Rozelle officially launched on February 16 with a wonderful evening of food, fellowship and a vision message from Ps Phil. Under the leadership of Executive Pastors Ward and Nicolle Lucas, the Inner West church has gone through many different seasons since its inception in 1999. Since then, hundreds of people have been baptised and raised up into all areas of ministry as they experienced Christ. - Read on to hear Ps Wards experience of the opening night...
"Pastor Phil was our guest speaker for our launch, delivering a message and imparting a vision for our Church that really resonated and encouraged the congregation. He prophesied that the opposition we have faced will lead to increase, and that this is a Biblical pattern that is constantly evident both through observation of the world around us, and throughout history. He reminded us that ‘Christ’ means ‘anointed one’ and that whenever there is anointing there will be opposition. In fact, opposition is a sign that anointing is present, that something significant is being opposed. The Apostle Paul listed his credentials for ministry not by his formal learning but by the list of his persecutions – in those things he rejoiced (2 Corinthians 11:23-31).
The Rozelle campus launch is symbolic in its birth. Just as Jesus told Peter to launch out into the deep and let down the nets for a catch, this is a time for C3 Rozelle to launch out in order to see an increase in salvations. We will see increase in the Church. As opposition represses the increase, so too does it eventually give way to an abundant increase through perseverance of faith and diligence in walking with the Holy Spirit.
Nicolle and I loved the night which included a jumping castle for the kids and a BBQ after the service. There were first time visitors, our wonderful current members along with our youth group and the friends they had invited. Members, who had been part of the church in the past, also came back for the launch to cheer us on. Members of Oxford Falls came to support us and even some of our own personal friends came to be a part of it, which was a great encouragement. The vibe was great and our worship team was outstanding in preparing a place for the Holy Spirit to move and impart. So many of our church family contributed time and energy before and on the night to make the night a success setting up and cleaning up after. We were so proud of them and grateful for them!
Nicolle and I are excited about the future of the church. The word the Lord gave me was Psalm 126 which is about when the Lord began to restore the fortunes of Zion.
It says: When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations “The Lord has done great things for them. The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy".
I believe this is prophetic for our campus in Rozelle. It is a new day and God's purpose for us and work through us in the Inner West will surprise many, but not all."
